I have known about the deepsea ship-wrecks of the Black Sea, for a couple years, and knew they were beginning to explore them, but had forgotten about it. The Black Sea has been under Soviet control and they have denied access, until recently, as some of their satellite countries have allowed exploration. This sea is unique because of the total lack at oxygen at lower depths. That means there is no rotting of wood, and organisms of all kinds are totally absent.
