Wow, is kinda different around here, after the golf course in our back yard closed…permanently? No…I hope. The heir/new owner sold the water rights and the ongoing drought sealed the fate of Eagle Trace thy had been a fixture in Broomfield, CO, since 1963.

 Kinda nice having the course to myself, without the interruption of other golfers, but really gonna miss the Men’s Club, the tournaments and the buddies I made there.

Good local group working on finding new ownership, that shouldn’t be hard, with the old owner (jerk attorney) giving it away for a tax write off and plans being made to tap into Laramie Fox Aquifer that is below us.

In the meantime, will have a year or so of peace and quiet, and my own private course.

Saw a good movie yesterday,

that really showed how fast time flies. Argo is about the hostage crisis in Iran, 33 years ago, and has a bit of history at the the beginning, that most of us have forgotten, as in WHY the Iranian people were SO pissed off at Americans. In 1953, the popularly elected president of Iran was replaced by the Shah of Iran, in a coup directed and financed by the CIA and the US, to protect America's Big Oil interests, much the same way Saddam Hussein was installed in Iraq. The shah, like Hussein, was a despot who tyrannized the people and looted the treasury. When he was overthrown, in a populist revolution, he fled to the US, but the Iranians wanted to put him on trial. Hence, the Iranian mobs took out their anger on the US embassy and it's workers. Am really conflicted,

with the 'scandals' in Wahington. First of all Benghazi is not a scandal, no matter how hard the Pubs try to make it into one. BUT, the IRS and AP affairs have some merit, although the Tea Party (created and supported by the Koch bros) and FOX News are just arms of the Repub Party, whose sole intent is to take down Obama and the Dems, by any and all means. That is a given. SO, should the Dems just roll over when they are constantly under attack? No, BUT, they need to fight legally, and using the IRS and stifling a free press isn't right either. Not NEARLY as egregious as the last admin's behavior, but wrong, none the less. Personally, it just makes me more disgusted at the dirty game of politics that is all about the power and money involved, rather than doing what is best for the people.
