Was watching CBS Sunday Morning Show

with several interesting segments, and they had the Opinion piece at the end, this time with Ben Stein. He was addressing the US economy, which isn't 'surging' like some would expect or enjoy. He mentioned several reasons, incl worldwide economics, but he didn't mention a couple MAJOR ones, in my opinion. First, we are coming out of the WORST downturn (thanks, Repubs) since the Big D in the 30's and that took a world war to recover from. Other large factors, in my opinion, is the aging demographic of the Baby Boomers, who don't accumulate/need 'things' like young families do, and the young people who aren't starting families because of HUGE student debt, that the Dems are trying to fix, while being fought at every turn by the Big Money Pubs who can't see the big picture, just wanting the % of interest they get, by bleeding the younger generations.
Ben had a good point. He said statistics show people spend a HUGE amount of time on their cell/smart phones, with the average person texting 40 times/day, and 'checking' their phone over 150 times. This form of 'gossip' cuts into productivity on several levels.
Add 'em all together and we're lucky to see any growth at all, with the Pubs doing EVERYTHING in their power to kill the economy before the upcoming election.  'It's The Economy Stupid', is the MAIN factor in deciding a presidential election. Their primary mouthpiece/propaganda outlet, Bullshit Mountain, continually spews negative, info like an old fashioned manure spreader, in an effort to influence the vote in EVERY way possible, with 'facts' being irrelevant. Nothing new here, but is important to 'keep it real', as we approach the elections and the tsunami of BS from FOX.
