Watched the final episode last night,

of 'The Story of God', with Morgan Freeman, and they discussed miracles. They had a Christian pastor from Missouri, who claimed a miracle healing and built a church congregation on it. When Morgan pressed him for details, he claimed he had a rare kind of cancer that caused tumors all over his body. He had his friends pray for him, and 'lay hands on him', and one night they had an all-night prayer session, after which he said Jesus spoke to him.
Morgan asked what He said and the preacher said Jesus' words were very plain, saying, 'You need to go to the doctor', the guy did and they started chemo therapy and radiation.
He responded very well and is now claiming a 'miracle healing'. No Shit. That was the 'miracle' that his flock brags about to this day. RU kidding?
Morgan also interviewed a math guy, who specializes in 'odds'. He said with 6 billion people on earth, each of them involved in MANY circumstances each day, it would be impossible if some REALLY wild and crazy stuff DIDN'T happen. It's just the nature of odds and probability.
If you flip a coin enough times, you WILL get 50 tails or heads in a row, or more, but that isn't a miracle. It's just math, or science, like when millions of people get sick and die, some will have 'spectacular' cures, but that doesn't mean it's a miracle, although some will certainly claim that.
It's amazing how many people don't know simple math/odds. The lottery business depends on them, the same way FOXNews depends on the sheep.
