Colorado now has only ONE Repub rep on any level, and that’s cuz he, Cory Gardner, wasn’t up for re-election.
The winning Dems all had the same, winning, strategy. Tie your opponent to Trump, and reap the rewards.
Coloradans despise Trump’s preference for violent rhetoric over civil discourse. They reject his favor of intolerant despots like Kim Jong-Un or Vladimir Putin in place of international allies like Germany’s Angela Merkel or Canada’s Justin Trudeau. They embrace a free press and reject “alternative facts.” They also oppose his callous agenda, such as his attempt to ban trans-gender service members from the military, or his family separation policy that ripped children, including infants, from the arms of parents who were seeking refuge in the United States.
Tying Colorado Republicans to Trump was effective because Republicans in Washington abandoned their constitutional obligation to be a check on the executive branch, even when it meant going against conservative values.
Too many in the GOP have cast aside traditional Republican values for the president’s agenda.
They have embraced protectionism over free trade and driven up the cost of doing business by imposing tariffs on our longstanding partners in trade.
Long known as fiscal hawks, Republicans today are now responsible for ballooning the national deficit to $779 billion.
Remember when the Pubs could be PROUD of their party?
