McConaughey and Harrellson were fantastic and the scenery in southern Louisiana was SO familiar after all the time I've spent in the swampland around Houma. Bottom line, thought the ending was just too dark. Maybe it's just me, and now that I think about it, not sure what else they could have done.

Ive seen how water brings life to the huge fields of crops, that feed America and the world, and I've seen the changes as pivot irrigation systems suck the irreplacable water out of the Ogallala Aquifer, the largest aquifer in the US. At the current rate, 70 percent of the aquifer will be depleted by 2060, according to a study released last year by Kansas State University. Oil may seem like the most valuable commodity of the American midsection, but it’s not. Take away water from the Ogallala and you take away life itself. Depopulation, slow now, would accelerate, even beyond the Dust Bowl exodus of the 1930s. This is not idle speculation. Even those in the fact-denial camp of climate change, people who get their science from Rush Limbaugh, know that the Ogallala is being sucked dry. Shallower parts of the aquifer are now empty in parts of the Texas Panhandle. It would be different if this valuable water was being used to feed the world's people, but a huge portion...

but I wanted to see the Colbert Report, after he was awarded Letterman's Late Show, and I'm SO glad I did, as he used his 'show' to show what an ass Bill O'Reilly is, as Big Bill traced all of America's problems back to the 60's when the 'hippies' defied the draft cuz they didn't want to die in Viet Nam. No Shit. It was the start of, 'if it feels good, do it' and the end of American values, according to Bill. (O'Jerky conveniently doesn't mention that he's a draft dodger) There's NO WAY I can describe what a jerk Bill O'Reilly is, better than he defines himself on this Colbert Show. You just gotta see it. Kathleen Sebelius, the Obama staffer who was in charge of the disastrous Obamacare rollout has resigned. I think she should have been canned, but at least she's gone, and maybe someone competent can take her place. Obviously a project SO huge is gonna have problems, but she was in 'way over her head',. I see the best golfers in the world, and see the 'best of the best', from the past, and I have a bunch of 'favorites', any of whom could win. As I hear about Hogan, Snead, Palmer, Nicklaus, Woods and others, I think about the 'best ever', in my opinion. And that would be Bobby Jones. If you don't know his story, that's too bad, but Google him, and see why he's the best ever, who quit at the top of his game. Amazing player...

Over 3 months after approving recreational marijuana, Denver still isn't a 'Crime-Filled Hellscape' as predicted by the 'Reefer Madness' believers. In fact, crime is down 14.6%. Oh well, the haters will find a way to try and make their predictions come true, although those of us who are living with it realize that a naturally growing plant that relieves pain isn't all that bad, and it is obvious why 'Big Pharma' doesn't want cannabis to replace the drugs that they charge HUGE money for. It just AMAZES me that they are able to exist and even thrive when they are so OBVIOUSLY 'full of crap', with their 'bought and paid for' (over $100 million paid to the cable providers, to be included) 'news' network. I would have bet big money that they couldn't find and/or keep an audience with their obvious agenda, (which is banned in Canada where it is illegal for a news network to broadcst known lies), but they've found their niche. And a MAJOR part of that niche is the largest voting block in the country, Christians, (who they laugh at, behind their backs, well documented) and those who want to have their biases and prejudices confirmed. Bottom line? Best money ever spent by the Repub party in their effo...

I doubt that he'll be able to keep his on air personae as he goes mainstream after his stint at Comedy Central, where the clowns of Bullshit Mountain are one of his favorite targets. I sure hope he doesn't have to 'sell out' and is able to keep his biting wit as he points out the foibles of the 'Conservative' point of view. 'Go For It', Stephen and show the world what your audience has been laughing at for so long. (As in last night's show where he showed of the FOX bimbos praising UConn for winning the NAACP Championship)

An ancient, business-card-sized papyrus fragment that appears to quote Jesus Christ discussing his wife is real, Harvard University announced Thursday. The fragment caused international uproar when it was revealed by a Harvard historian in September 2012, with the Vatican swiftly deeming it a forgery.   Scientists say the papyrus and ink is over 1500 years old and the writing is consistent with known records.
