Today's Denver Post has a good article

Politicians Are Stressing Us Out     By Christopher Ingraham The Washington Post 3 Comments The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation just released a wide-ranging survey on the prevalence and causes of stress in the U.S. Overall, 86 percent of Americans say they've been stressed out in the past month, with 26 percent saying they've experienced a great deal of stress. Read the rest, here http://www.denverpost.com/opinion/ci_26133733/politicians-are-stressing-us-out   Basically, it says that stress is bad for us (oh really?),the most common stress is caused by politicians and most people have a hard time coping.   BUT, I have found a GREAT stress reducer. When I see some really stupid political statement, act or idea, (usually on FOX and by Pubs, although Dems aren't immune) I internalize, then write about it here, with some commentary and insults. VOILA', I instantly feel better and can move on, feeling I have done my part to enlighten some FO...

In a rare moment of bi-partisanship,

Image
three of the world's richest men, with WAY different political opinions, agreed to chastise House Republicans, for failing to act on an immigration bill. Casino magnate and conservative donor Sheldon Adelson joined Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates to criticize House Republicans, in particular, for failing to address current policy, which they said "borders on insanity." Yup, insanity is a great word to describe the House of Reps(R), as they 'sue' the prez, while doing NOTHING to fix the immigration mess they helped to create. In other news, 74% of REPUBLICANS, with Obamacare, are happy with their coverage. Many more 'could and would' be happy with their coverage, but their Repub guvs opted out of the program to 'make a point', while their constituents go without health care  The good news? Pubs are gonna have to be FOR something in the fall elections, instead of just being the Party of NO, as their m...

From FOXNews headlines, today (red highlight is ME)

'NIGHTMARE': Flood of lawsuits to follow wave of illegal immigrants? ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS POURING across the border could trigger a wave of lawsuits, flooding the US court system for years and costing taxpayers millions of dollars, according to legal experts. PS. This is because the US courts have to follow the 2008 LAW, put into place by GWBush. What is the Pub response after they refuse to even VOTE on an immigration bill to change it? Read below.    Memo to GOP — Let Obama own immigration mess on our border Yup, that's their plan. Blame it on Obama.   What kind of sick, strange world do these clowns inhabit? Oh yeah. Bullshit Mountain, home of the sheep.

Good website here, that PROVES,

what I've been saying for years.  9 of the top 10 states for income/education are BLUE, as they PAY for 9 of the bottom 10 states, which are Red. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/07/1158012/-Blue-States-v-Red-States-some-observations # Check out some other 'not surprising' facts about 'Red vs Blue States'. The only exception to the first group is Alaska(R) which has their income artificially enhanced with a HUGE state '$ Give back' to the citizens, to share the oil wealth. The only exception to the bottom group is New Mexico, who has the largest number of Native Americans in the country, which skews the state income WAY down. Other than that, it's the Old South, home of poverty, ignorance and (surprise!) the base of the Repub party. Other than those 2 exceptions, the Dem Blue states support the Pub Red states. Not what the Repubs like to believe, but 'facts don't lie', FOX does. Nothing new here, but is always nice to shoot down o...

In another example of, 'What the hell

are these clowns thinking?', Bonehead finally announced just WHAT he is suing Obama over. I'm sure this lawsuit (stunt) makes sense to an oxygen deprived brain, buried deep in a rectal cavity, BUT, to the rest of us, it just proves the point that the Pubs have a real 'problem with reality.' CNN) -- White House officials are scratching their heads over the decision by Republicans to sue President Barack Obama over his decision to delay a requirement in the health care law for businesses to provide coverage to employees. That's because, as one senior administration official pointed out on Friday, those same lawmakers voted to do the exact same thing at virtually the exact same time -- defer until 2015 the part of Obamacare known as the employer mandate. House Speaker John Boehner justified last July's vote, held days after the Obama administration action, as a repudiation of the executive decision to alter a major part of the politically-charged law just mo...

Something the Pubs won't tell you,

Image
but I will, is the majority of people in Nebraska(R), esp the farmers, DON'T want the Keystone pipeline running across the state. My aunt Ruby, who owns several farms, says she doesn't know ANY farmers who want it. They realize the oil is just going to benefit a few 'fat cats', (like the Koch bros) and isn't even gonna be sold to the American market, as it would be piped to Houston where it will  to be sent overseas on huge tankers. Pipeline breaks, which ALL pipelines suffer, eventually, could pollute the Ogallala Aquifer, which is the largest freshwater aquifer in the US and sits under the Nebr prairie. Will FOX and the Pubs (one and the same) tell you this? Of course not. It's all just 'Obama's fault' who won't create new jobs, which are mostly temporary and will just benefit the Big Oil pipeline builders, (Koch bros) Nothing new here, as the sheep get 'selective facts', which don't include the fact that Nebr(R) doen't want t...

Will it make a difference

to the right wing-nuts who claim that Hillary could have saved lives at Benghazi? No 'stand down' order in Benghazi Jul 11th 2014 3:01AM 91 Comments WASHINGTON (AP) - The testimony of nine military officers undermines contentions by Republican lawmakers that a "stand-down order" held back military assets that could have saved the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans killed at a diplomatic outpost and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya, as the 14th hearing has the same result as the first 13. The crux of the matter remains: 'They put the call somewhere between 5:05 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. local time. It would take about 90 minutes to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi. The next U.S.-chartered plane to make the trip left at 6:49 a.m., meaning it could have arrived shortly before 9 a.m., nearly four hours after the second, 11-minute battle at the CIA facility ended at about 5:25 a.m.' The entire 'witch hunt' by the Pubs claims that Hillary was too slow in...

In the Repub brain(?), this makes sense?

Despite Boehner's whining and pleading the Pubs refused to even vote on an immigration bill that would have addressed the flood of children that is hitting our border, after a bill that GW passed in 2008 'guaranteed them a hearing'. BUT, when Obama tries to deal with the problem, which the Repubs just IGNORE, other than to 'snipe', they claim HE caused the problem and won't work with them to fix it. WTF? With their heads SO FAR up their asses, how do they even breathe?

If you watch Obama, in Denver,

you realize he 'just doesn't care' what the Pubs think any more. WOW. It's about time! AS IF, there was ever, anything he could do to satisfy them They have ONE plan, and they've admitted it. SO, why has he wasted time trying to compromise/negotiate with people who have NO thoughts of compromise.negotiation? I have NO idea, BUT, it seems like he has FINALLY realized that the jerks on the other side of the aisle have one agenda, and the American people (majority) have a different one. Game on. Go for it. I HOPE.....

I'm trying to think,

Image
of the stupidest thing a Pub has ever done, (not that the Dems haven't done a bunch), and I can't think of ANYTHING worse than John McCain picking Sarah Palin as his VP candidate. I used to respect McCain, although I obviously didn't agree with all his politics, BUT, when he picked the 'Alaskan Airhead' to be 'a heartbeat away' from the presidency, (had the 'old man' won), I TOTALLY lost all respect for him. From being the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, to 2nd in charge of the most important/powerful country on earth? Are you kidding me? If this is an example of McCain's judgement, we can only be thankful he and Sarah were defeated (Surprise!). Now she's a FOXNews X-Spurt, where she's just laughable but thankfully nowhere near a postion of power, other than preaching to the sheep. Sarah Palin, what a joke, but McCain shoulda known better....

I've read some crap in my life,

Image
and considering the amount I've penned, probably written some too, BUT, I wasn't prepared for Sarah Palin's rant on FOX. (Who else would print such tripe). If you wanna wade through some swill, here it is. as she rants against the prez. I'm guessing it was after a bottle or two of wine. No sober person would write this and no legitimate news agency would print it, but HEY, we're talking FOX here, where ANYTHING that is anti Obama/Dem makes the grade.   http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/07/10/president-obama-buzzed-on-suds-great-adventure/ Sarah's said and done so me weird stuff, but this has to be near the top of her 'special' efforts, as she disparages the prez for doing some campaign fund raising, when she thought he should be 'fact finding' on the border, with all the kids that showed up after GW promised them a hearing, if they made it to the Rio Grande. Speaking of the border, (as the Repubs REFUSE to take a vote on immigration), the H...

This is the 10 year anniversary of 'Outfoxed,

Image
Rupert Murdoch's War On Journalism," the documentary that exposed the Murdoch/Ailes network for what it is, the propaganda arm of the Republican party, who paid over $120 million, to be included with 'legitimate' news agencies, which some people never knew, some forgot and others just 'don't care', cuz they can have their biases validated, daily. From Wikipedia: To accelerate its adoption by cable providers, Fox News paid systems up to $11 per subscriber to distribute the channel. [19] This contrasted with the normal practice, in which cable operators paid stations carriage fees for programming, and it totalled over $120 million.  "Outfoxed," caused a major stir when it was released in 2004 . The film leveled stinging allegations at the network, accusing it of conservative bias, politicized coverage and strategic manipulation of its viewers. Greenwald has said that he thinks the documentary was one of the first forthright attacks on Fox ...

The 'Fair and Balanced' network,

(funniest motto EVER), has a headline today, criticizing Hillary, that reads. 'Hillary Has One Plan and One Goal', to become president of the US. The whole point of Hillary Clinton’s existence for the last decade is to be president. She wants to be the second President Clinton, and the first female ever.  Yup, that's her sin. I don't remember Mitt being criticized for having the SAME goal. But that's different, and when you are the propaganda arm of the Pub party, you gotta take strong postions. This one's just kinda funny....

As always, the Pubs are great at saying NO,

Image
but can't come up with an alternative. This time it's Affordable Health Care, where they want to 'Repeal and Replace ACA', BUT, they can't come up with any alternatives, months after they said they would. Right leaning Politico details their problem here. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/07/house-gop-stuck-aca-replacement-108688.html Nothing new here, just like immigration, Iraq, transportation/highway bill etc. They bitch when someone does SOMETHING, but offer no alternatives, as they leave for a 5 week vacation without reaching any of the contentious bills facing Congress. Their plan remains the same. #1, defeat Obama and the Dems, by any means possible, and that is best accomplished if the economy is floundering, as it was the last time they were in power. Just Saying No. SO much easier than actually DOING something. Nothing new here, as some things never change...

In FOXWorld,

where the sheep get their news(?) and facts(?) from a 'bought and paid for' (by Roger and Rupert) network, they are reporting that Obama won't meet 'on the border', with Repub henchmen. Oh really? Is there any reason he would want his pic taken with a problem that the Pubs created? I know I wouldn't. The Dem Senate voted to DOUBLE the border security budget (Google it if you don't believe me) and the Pub House killed it. Never mind, if you don't know that by now, you never will 'believe it', as in simple FACTS. Same old shit. from the same liars. It gets SO old...

Supposed to be hot tomorrow,

Image
(but at least it's not humid), then the annual 'monsoon season' starts, on Friday. Is always nice to get the cooling and moisture this time of year, in the early afternoon. Just like it used to be, in the good old days, when we didn't need air conditioning, in this part of Colorado.

Earlier, I mentioned the book

Image
about the Repub 'War on Science', and I got curious. Here's the Wikipedia review The Republican War on Science From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Republican War on Science is a book by Chris C. Mooney , an American journalist who focuses on the politics of science policy . In the book, Mooney discusses the Republican Party leadership's stance on science, and in particular that of the George W. Bush administration , with regard to issues such as global warming , the creation–evolution controversy , bioethics , alternative medicine , pollution , separation of church and state , and the government funding of education, research, and environmental protection . The book argues that the administration regularly puts politics ahead of science, for their own agenda. Duh. Who da thunk? I would bet, that if there were a way to measure 'Scientific IQ', the average Repub would be 10-20 points below the ave Dem. Not kidding, at all, cuz, c...

In further news, from the Right WingNuts,

Image
Rev Klingenschmitt(R) announced that in Heaven's Newspaper, 100 years from now, there will be the following headline. 'Jesus Will Overrule Supreme Court and Throw Gays into Hell'. Really? Don't beleive it, read it here. https://www.facebook.com/rightwingwatch/posts/10152296258021748 This follows FOXNews resident X-Spurt, Dr Keith Ablow saying that if California replaces the words 'husband' and 'wife', with 'spouse', the next thing you know, 'people will be marrying their dogs'. Don't believe it? Just look on FOX today. http://www.slate.com/blogs/outward/2014/07/09/fox_news_compares_gay_marriage_to_dog_marriage.html Remember when YOU had to choose whether to be sraight or gay? Yeah, me too... As always, just when I think the whackjobs can't get any worse....

In a PERFECT example,

Image
of how the 'no-science' Repubs spout ignorant bullshit,  Kentucky Congressman Brandon Smith(R) dismissed climate change, by saying, 'Earth and Mars have EXACTLY the same temperature, and we know they don't burn coal on Mars, SO, climate change is a hoax'. I'm not kidding. This happened yesterday and you can read the exact words here, BUT, you won't see it on FOX.   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/08/brandon-smith-mars-climate-change_n_5568058.html Same old crap from the same sources. BTW, the KY Congressman owns a coal mining company, and the temp on earth is approx 140 degrees warmer than Mars. Just when I think the idiots can't get any worse, they always do....

On the national news,

Image
they showed a crowd of people with signs blocking immigrant buses, saying they didn't want them in their town. I don't blame them. BUT, they also interviewed a woman with a sign saying 'Impeach Obama'. When asked why, she said, 'Cuz he could stop this, with a wall, and he doesn't do anything'. Sadly, a typical, right-wing ignorant response, from someone who doesn't know, 'the rest of the story', as Paul Harvey would say. First: Obama, and Boehner have TRIED to get the Pubs to consider and vote on an immigration bill, but they won't, cuz they'll be crucified in their gerrymandered, conservative districts if they even hint at compromise/negotiation. Second: The Dem controlled Senate passed a bill nearly DOUBLING the amount of money spent on border security, incl fences, guards and quicker deportation. The Pub controlled House 'shot it down', saying we couldn't afford it. BUT, FOXNews and other Repub propaganda outlets continua...
