This shortage is especially acute in the areas of farm workers, landscaping and construction. The kind of work a lot of Americans don’t want, but we need. Watching the finals, I usually have a clear favorite, but this year I didn’t. Just wanted a good game, with the title going to the best team, and after regulation time it was all knotted up, with fantastic plays by several players. Then the refs took over, with two TERRIBLE calls, both against Moretti, and a couple of other very dubious whistles that totally skewed the momentum and stole the game from Texas Tech. Good news for Virginia, but it left a sickening taste in the mouth for the Raider players that will spend their lives thinking, ‘WHAT IF, the refs hadn’t stolen the game?’, much like the NON-calls that put Virginia in the finals and kept New Orleans out of the Super Bowl. I know refs are human, and make errors like everyone else, but for the Texas Tech players and fans, this one’s gonna hurt for a long time..... 

It’s not like this hasn’t gone on, forever. Those with money can buy their kids’ way into college, while the ‘deserving’ get passed over. Need/want a scholarship, to impress family and friends?
