Selling out internet privacy
Re: “House votes to block online privacy rule,” March 29 news story.
So now we know. Those members of Congress — all of them Republicans — who voted to allow internet providers to sell our personal information to whomever, now we know who you’re beholden to, and it isn’t us, your constituents. You’re beholden to the money players; they are probably the only ones you ever consult on how to vote on a bill.
Those who voted to allow others to monetize our personal information will need to be replaced. In the meantime, it would be worth finding an internet provider willing to make a commitment to their customers regarding privacy and the protection of personal information.
