Interesting article in the Denver Post today,

about an IRS ruling for the 'legal' cannabis businesses in Colorado. Seems they are required to pay withholding taxes by 'electronic wire transfer', and if they don't, face a 10% penalty, even if they pay by other means. BUT, it's illegal for a bank to tranfer funds from a business that's involved with marijuana, SO, there was a court case, and the ruling came down, yesterday. Basically it was, 'Tough Shit'. You owe the taxes, PLUS the 10% penalty, AND if you try to comply, that's illegal and you can be fined more. Have a nice day...
All because the Nixon(R) administration classified cannabis as a Schedule I drug, same as heroin, in an effort to 'screw them damn hippies' who were protesting the Viet Nam war, which NEARLY EVERYONE admits now, was a HUGE mistake. Gotta love them Republicans, as they pulled the same crap in Iraq, and still fight to incarcerate those in possession of a naturally growing weed.
