The Sports writer wondered,

in the Post this morning, why scoring is down so much in basketball? Pretty obvious, to me. B-ball USED to be a non-contact sport, where fouls were assessed for excessive contact. Now, it's like football, without pads. Totally different game, where finesse and agility has been replaced with a linebacker mentality. UNLESS, you are an NBA superstar, then you go to the foul line if someone THINKS about blocking your shot. I've pretty much quit watching b-ball, cuz the Nuggets are SO, bad, and the officiating is even worse.
However, at the high school level, Broomfield is amazing again, girls and boys. The girls got kicked up from 4A to 5A, (even though the school doesn't have 5A student numbers) where they're STILL dominating, and the 'Big Game' in the Front Range League (boys) the other night was between the 2 Bmfd schools, and Legacy beat BHS in overtime. Maybe something in the water?????
