I was expecting to be amazed,

but the Gaudi cathedral in Barcelona (Sagrada Familia) was WAY off the chart. Won't be completed for another 30 years, but WOW! St Paul's in London is amazing, and St Peter's in Rome is probably the most amazing building I've ever seen, but this is right up there. Unbelievable, outside and inside.
