The Oscar Nominations

are out, and pretty interesting. We've seen most of the pics, and plan to see The Revenant soon, if I can drag Carol to it. Am really glad The Big Short got lots of nominations, incl Best Picture, so more people can see exactly how the Big Banks and Bushies SCREWED us Big Time. It's a complex story that I've tried to explain, without a lot of success, to rightwingnuts who are either willfully (or just plain) ignorant. The same ones who say about the Iraq War. 'Oh, GW and Cheney just got 'bad information'. It's the kind of stupidity that can't be fixed or explained, BUT is pervasive in the right wing, low info crowd. Hopefully, this movie will make it SO simple even THEY can understand, but I'm betting the typical sheep will just blow it off, cuz it's from that liberal bastion of 'Hollywood', instead of FOX, so it CAN'T be true, even though it is completely documented. Even now, after they wrecked the economy, and new rules/regs were put in place, the Big Bank lobbyists(R) are working hard, and succeeding, in repealing them, so, it COULD happen again, esp since the major players not only escaped prosecution/jail, they also got fully paid, PLUS bonuses.
Also, was glad to see 'Brooklyn', get Best Pic nomination, plus others, cuz it's a great flick.

The Pubs keep thinking the American public is stupid, and they can get away with their phony political crap.
