Wow, finally made it home after over ten hours in the air, and it’s nice to see Bailey and the ol homestead.
Really gonna miss the amazing scenery and friendly people of Scandinavia AND our tour group.
Had a good tour leader and some really good local guide. Lots of Aussies and Canooks in our group of 25 and got to see some amazingly sights, old cities, harbors, fantastic museums, (esp Viking history) and really enjoyed our tour group and ‘off the chart’ tour bus. Like cruising in a high end Mercedes, with wall to wall windows, great audio video, smooth power, an experienced driver and a rest room. NICE!
Was SO nice to get daily pics of grandson Tre and fellow travelers started asking if the new ones were in, then it was, ‘Oh, he’s so cute’. He definite looks like all the aswedes we saw, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Thanks Kari. It was kinda funny how many times Carol and I were asked for directions, like we were locals.
The plane rides on Icelandic were also nice, with good legroom, excellent white wine, comfy seats and good selection of movies and music.
Also watched the entire first season of Handmaids Tale. Wow, can’t wait to get Hulu and see the second season. Spent the last 3 1/2 hours with my Bose headphones cranking the tunes on the best, largest selection of music I could imagine. Kinda hated to see the flight end and never had that feeling before.
Now it’s back to the real world, with Bailey being really friendly, dealing with jet lag and having Dotard on all the media, continually proving there’s no limit to the depths he’ll sink to.
EVERY foreigner, and over 90% of our fellow travelers hate the Liar in Chief and the main question from nearly every European was , ‘how did it happen and how lonq will it take to fix?’
Several are worried he’ll start a war, or something as bad, to deflect pressure from himself.
‘First of all, let me apologize for our President’ is the right way to begin a conversation with a Scandinavian, or any other foreigner I’ve found, whether it’s in a restaurant, bar, hot tub or on an airplane and have NEVER had a disagreement. That, and they ask about guns and shootings. And, is Meuller an honorable man, since he’s also a Repub. Most are amazingly well informed. Much more so than the average FOX sheep, which is WHY we have the Pussy Grabber in the White House.
They also ask how he can get away with so many LIES and if he can be removed for mental incompetence. We can only wish, but like I tried to explain, with the church vote, FOXNews and complicity from Pubs who will go along with ANYTHING to stay in power, I don’t see any justice for a while.
Oh well, we do what we can and try to be patient, but in the meantime it’s great to see some more of our big, beautiful world, with the best traveling partner I could imagine. The loop from Stockholm to Lillehammer, then to Bergen and Oslo is totally amazing and Globus does a great job with hotels in the center of everything and included tours to the best museums, sights and ‘old towns’. Hundreds, maybe thousands of waterfalls cascading into streams, rivers, lakes and fiords become ordinary after a while.
The fish is fantastic and the beer is expensive, but, if you can do it, don’t hesitate....
