Got a pretty nasty rain/hail storm today,

that might have cost us all our 'Delicious' red apples, cuz it shredded the blossoms, but it was fun to watch the the pair of mallards that have made our little pond their home. We have a small swale/valley in the fairway right off our backyard that becomes a river when there's enough rain, and the collection pond overflows. Today, we watched the river form, with an initial surge approx 5 ft wide and a foot deep, moving at about one ft per second. through the heavy grass. The ducks saw it coming, waddled out and rode the crest, eating worms as they slowly floated down the fairway. in slow motion. Pretty cool, and Piper got to see it.
