We've watched the first five (of six), in National Geographic's series
"The Story of God' as Morgan Freeman travels the world, comparing and contrasting the major religions of the world, and it's been kinda interesting as he interviews believers and gives the history and background of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and others in various myths/religions. He does a great job of staying neutral and respectful, but I wondered what his conclusions are, after all his research. Now, after years in the making, we find out his thoughts, and SURPRISE, we agree. 'God is an invention of the human mind', according to Morgan, no matter how SURE the believers are that they are a member of the 'one and only' truth. At various times in my life, (and maybe in the future?), I too have been pretty certain, for a while, then logic and rationality take over. Who knows for sure? No one, but Morgan and I use the brains we were born with and come to the same conclusion. Wishful thinking, but no facts and when you look at the 'believers' and their actions, it kinda seals the deal. although I'll be the first to admit I know LOTS of good people who believe (some are my closest friends), and they almost make up for the bad ones, who give religion a bad name.
Just look at the source of war(s) since the beginning of time, and the millions killed in 'My God's better than your God'. I rest my case....
