For many years,
I was a 'disaster insurance adjuster', and had to deal with homeowners who'd just had a visit from a roofing (or other) contractor who assured them that, 'you have major damage, and need to get it fixed, NOW'. Most of the time, there was little or NO damage, and the 'expert contractor' was just lying to get business ($$), and I was able to convince the homeowners that you just had to realize what the 'agenda' of the contractor was, and 'shady characters' would say anything fool their unsuspecting victims.
Sorta like FOXNews. They also have an agenda, which is OBVIOUSLY to put Repub politicians in office, and they'll say or do ANYTHING, to close the deal. One of the main differences, though, was the crooked contractors didn't have a funny motto, like 'Fair and Balanced'. Other than that, they're the same. Just crooks with an obvious agenda, lying to the uninformed sheep, some of whom actually believe them. Anther difference? Lying contractors aren't illegal in Canada, but FOXNews is.
