When I saw his face and heard his distinctive voice,

I always knew it was gonna be a good, entertaining story, or news report. His reporting from one of the last helicopters to leave Saigon, after the tragic Viet Nam debacle, or being held captive for 40 days in Iraq, during that debacle, always had an element of truth, and 'being there' honesty that is often missing from today's news. Gonna miss his stories of elephants and orchestras from Africa as well, as he always had the head AND heart for special stories. I admit I enjoy 'news' more than most and probably more than I should, but am gonna miss Bob Simon, cuz he was fearless, and one of the best. It's an ironic trgedy that, after covering news from the arctic to the antarctic, and all the wars and hellholes in between, he was killed in a cab accident in New York City. Crazy....

Not sure why,

You think the Repub brand is tarnished now?
