Today's lead article in USAToday, details how the Ogallala aquifer, the largest fresh water aquifer in the WORLD, is being drained at an unprecedented rate, mainly being used to irrigate corn, grown throughout the Midwest, after the Bush administration created the mandates and subsidies for Ethanol. As if this isn't bad enough, we are now seeing a side effect that I have been warning about, for years.
The Ogallala aquifer, that has taken millions of years to form, and supports agriculture from South Dakota to Texas, is going down FAST, and farmer's wells are going dry. Read the entire story here:
